Got to go up to Portland this week to start pre production on a new Christmas record with my friend Josh White. I always love going to Portland and I have so many rad friends threre. Plus, the best coffee in the world (says I) is there, STUMPTOWN. Boooo ya. So good. (takes a sip) I brought back like 5 pounds for people back home, I felt like a drug dealer. Anyways, Portland was super fun. Besides getting lots of work done, I got to do quite a bit of hanging out with the famous Luke Stillar, which was amazing as always a blast. Also had some great thai and persian food, and spent some quality time at the best book store ever, Powels. Good times. Plus, that was just pre pro! Going back for the real deal in a week, but not before going to Colfax to record another song with Sherri! Ya, it’s crazy music month and Katelyn is sad that I’m gone so much.

Stumptown.
Bobby’s got a new job and is looking quite snazy these days.
Hatti, ever adorable and photogenic.

Wow man, that 1st shot is so trippy in an awesome way. Do you mind telling me what lens/camera you used for that shot?
Thanks!
Hello,
I really like your work and read your blog. It has helped me to improve my pictures, I think.
Could you do me and other a favor and tell me / us whith which lens / settings you shot your pictures? I checked but I can’t see the EXIF data in Flickr on your pics.
Thanks!
Christof
@ Jason: that first shot looks that way because of a photoshop action from the folks at totally rad photoshop actions. Check em out, super cool stuff. @ Jason and @ Christof: for the most part I was breaking in the Canon 24L on that trip. My most used lens is the 35L, but the 24L is becoming a fast favorite. A few of those were also the 50 1.4. I usually shoot at f/2 or thereabouts.
i was going to say…the first picture looks like the 85 on steroids.
Hello,
thanks for your comment.
Just one more thing: I suppose you shoot with a full frame camera? So 24mm really IS 24mm without a crop factor?
Inspired by your work and post processing, this is what I am getting:

@Christof: yes, 24 is 24, I use a full-frame camera. Check out the photography category for the post about full-frame vs. crop. Sweet photo on flickr, glad to be part of your journey!
