Portrait Session In Coronado with the Murphys!

February 19th, 2010 by Zach | 3 Comments

Or is it Murphies? Murphi? Murphyz? Anyways, before we left on vacation a few weeks ago we got a chance to get down to Coronado with Daniel and Melinda, our awesome friends from… well, a lot of different places. Daniel is the tech director at Rancho Community church here in Temecula, and he’s also a brilliant website builder. Wordpress, Drupal, Skynet, the Matrix, you name it. So brilliant, in fact, that he built this site! If that’s not a mark of brilliance, I dunno what it. So, if you need web design or web building, you now know where to look. His wife Melinda is equally cool, also from Rancho, only she does children’s stuff over there. Basically, they are a power team of domination. They had these amazing cruiser bikes that made for some really fun props, as you’ll see below.

By the way, I've had Aperture 3 for about a week now and I'm still loving it. I still don't use it as a RAW converter, but it has replaced Photoshop for skin cleaning, dodging/burning, most color tweaks, and curve stuff. It's an even better Digital Asset Manager now, and it just works better in general. Much time being saved, quality of work and life going up. Thank you, Apple. (finally)

Pro tip: When running along subjects on bikes while shooting, watch for lamp posts, they'll get ya. Not that I did that, ahem. It is, however, a great way to get really genuine expressions of laughter from said subjects, just be ready after you hit the pole.
